Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has reportedly turned down an opportunity to join another major European club this summer. The 32-year-old, who transferred from Real Madrid to Old Trafford for about £70 million in 2022, had an impressive debut season with United, making 53 appearances across all competitions.

However, the 2023-24 season proved challenging for Casemiro. His performances in both midfield and defense drew criticism from fans and pundits, as United finished a disappointing eighth in the Premier League and were knocked out in the group stage of the Champions League.

While United managed to win the FA Cup, Casemiro was left out of the matchday squad, fueling speculation about his future. Interest in him has come from Saudi Pro League teams Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal, but Bayern Munich also made a move for the Brazilian international, according to Trivela.

Bayern Munich reportedly conducted a survey on Casemiro, who was initially open to the idea of moving to the Allianz Arena. However, negotiations stalled, and the financial terms offered by Bayern didn't convince Casemiro to leave Manchester United.

Bayern had shown interest in Casemiro at the end of the 2022-23 season as well, but a transfer did not happen. Now managed by Vincent Kompany, Bayern has shifted focus to Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha, negotiating a potential €45 million (£38 million) transfer.

Casemiro's intention to leave United would depend on receiving an offer that is advantageous both financially and in terms of the club's project, as he still aims to compete for top honors. This stance makes a move to Saudi Arabia unlikely, and it's uncertain if any other top European clubs, apart from Bayern, would be interested in signing him.

Currently, Casemiro is believed to be United's highest earner, with a weekly wage of around £350,000. He has two years remaining on his contract, with an option to extend for an additional year.

This situation arises as Erik ten Hag's side is linked with several midfielders, including Benfica's Joao Neves, who is reportedly their top target if Casemiro were to leave the club.
