According to reports, Manchester United's Brazilian midfielder Casemiro is already having regrets on his transfer to Old Trafford during the summer transfer window.

After taking his silverware tally to 18 at Real Madrid, Casemiro had been expected to continue into a 10th season at the Bernabeu.

However, an approach from United led to the Brazil international informing Carlo Ancelotti that he felt it was the right time to take on a new challenge and try something different.

Following United's early-season defeats to Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford, the 30-year-old had been expected to slot seamlessly into Erik ten Hag's midfield.

However, that has not proven to be the case with United recording home victories over Liverpool and Arsenal without the £60m player in their side, with Ten Hag preferring Scott McTominay & Christian Eriksen as his first choice midfield pairing.

According to sources, Casemiro has already told friends that he has regrets over his transfer to the Premier League giants.

The report suggests that he would welcome a return to Real Madrid if it became possibility, something which is not likely to happen given the transfer fees involved.
