Barcelona is reportedly considering the possibility of selling Ansu Fati during the upcoming summer transfer window. Initially, Fati was seen as the potential successor to Lionel Messi and was expected to have a long career at Camp Nou.

However, despite his impressive record of 29 goals and 10 assists in 112 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions last season, Fati spent much of his time on the bench. This led to him being seen as a dispensable asset during the previous transfer window, as Barcelona aimed to improve their financial situation.

Despite Fati's reluctance to secure a permanent transfer elsewhere, viable offers didn't materialize. Instead, he completed a loan move to Brighton & Hove Albion. At Brighton, the 20-year-old has been getting regular playing time, amassing 239 minutes across five appearances in various competitions. He even scored in a Premier League match, although Brighton lost 6-1 to Aston Villa. Fati is also expected to feature when Brighton faces Marseille in the Europa League.

Barcelona's perspective is to see Fati receive ample playing time to increase his market value for a potential sale next summer. According to Sport, the club officials have already decided to let go of Fati if they receive a suitable offer for his services. With Barcelona's financial constraints for the 2024-25 season already established by La Liga, President Joan Laporta is aware of the necessary cutbacks.

The report suggests that several Premier League clubs are monitoring the situation in case Fati's career takes off at the Amex Stadium. Atletico Madrid might also be open to negotiations for a swap or part-exchange deal, especially if it involves getting Joao Felix, who is currently on loan at Barcelona, off their books.

While Fati remains under contract with Barcelona until 2027, it appears unlikely that he will be reintegrated into the first-team unless he excels at Brighton or significant high-value sales occur in the future.
