In Saturday's final at the Miami Open, Petra Kvitova won her first-ever title, denying Elena Rybakina a Sunshine Double. Kvitova secured a two-set triumph in a match that lasted one hour and 42 minutes.

Despite Rybakina saving two break points in the first game, both players held their serves in the early stages of the match. Kvitova broke Rybakina's serve in the ninth game to take a 5-4 lead, but Rybakina broke straight back. The first set went to a tie-break, which lasted 22 minutes and saw 30 points exchanged. Rybakina missed five chances to win the set, while Kvitova wasted four before finally winning the tie-break.

Kvitova quickly went a set and a break up in the second set, and Rybakina was unable to mount a comeback. Kvitova secured her maiden Miami Open title and 30th WTA title overall, while Rybakina's 11-match winning streak came to an end, as she lost her first Masters singles final on the WTA Tour.
