Nottingham Forest have stunned fans by sacking Nuno Espírito Santo, the very man who dragged them into Europe for the first time in decades. A top seven finish, Europa League nights on the horizon, and just three games into the new season, he’s gone.

Why? It wasn’t all rosy behind the scenes. Nuno clashed with owner Evangelos Marinakis over transfers and made his frustrations public. That, plus a 3–0 drubbing at home to West Ham, left him walking a tightrope and Marinakis wasted no time cutting the cord.

Enter Ange Postecoglou. The Aussie Greek is tipped to take the hot seat, and while his attacking style fits Forest’s ambition, some reckon this move smells more of Greek connections than pure football logic.

So was Nuno unfairly dumped after delivering the goods, or was this a case of owner and coach simply being too far apart to make it work?

Either way, Forest fans are in for another rollercoaster.
