John Cena’s retirement match might end up going head-to-head with AEW’s Worlds End pay-per-view, according to the latest buzz. On WrestleVotes Radio, it was reported that NBC’s top choice is to air Cena’s final bout on Saturday, December 13. “After asking around about the rumored dates for John Cena’s last match, we’re told NBC’s preferred choice is Saturday night, December 13,” the show noted.

Another possible date, December 27, is still technically on the table but is considered unlikely. The reason is a scheduling clash, NBC already has an exclusive NFL game airing on Peacock that night, and they don’t want to compete with themselves.

While December 27 does fall on the same night as AEW’s Worlds End, which WWE could potentially want to counter, sources say the NFL commitment makes it a long shot.

As previously reported by WCVB Boston in May, the event is still expected to take place at TD Garden in Boston a fitting location, as the city is eager to host Cena’s last match.
