Mohamed Salah once again etched his name into the record books after Liverpool's 3-1 victory over West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon

Jurgen Klopp's squad extended their winning streak in all competitions to six matches with their triumph against West Ham, and Salah opened the scoring for the home team.

Salah's goal occurred within the first 20 minutes of the game, following a delivery into the box by Luis Diaz. The 31-year-old seized control of the ball and charged towards the net. His progress was thwarted by West Ham's Nayef Aguerd, who fouled the Liverpool player, granting Klopp's team an early penalty opportunity.

Executing his finish with precision, Salah sent West Ham's goalkeeper Alphonse Areola the wrong way from the penalty spot, granting Liverpool the lead after just 16 minutes. With this goal, the former Chelsea player achieved a historic milestone, becoming the first player in Premier League history to either score or assist in 12 consecutive games on two occasions.

Salah first accomplished this feat between August and December 2021, with Liverpool finishing the 2021-22 season as runners-up, just one point behind champions Manchester City.

This time around, Salah has notched 12 consecutive goal contributions spanning multiple campaigns, with the initial contribution of this current streak being a penalty in the 4-3 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on April 30.

Liverpool remains unbeaten in those 12 matches, winning nine and drawing three. The team is currently enjoying a six-match undefeated run at the start of the 2023-24 season.

Salah has already shattered numerous Premier League records, surpassing Didier Drogba's tally of 104 goals to become the all-time leading African scorer in the English top flight. Following Salah's penalty against West Ham, Jarrod Bowen equalized for the visitors late in the first half, but goals from Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota ensured Klopp's team secured all three points.

Since their 1-1 draw against Chelsea at the beginning of the season, Liverpool has embarked on a six-match winning streak, including a 3-1 victory against Austrian side LASK in their opening Europa League fixture on Thursday.

Currently, the Reds occupy the second position in the Premier League standings, having amassed 16 points from their initial six matches. They trail Manchester City by just two points, with the latter still maintaining a flawless 100% record.

Salah will aim to extend his scoring streak in the league to 13 matches when Liverpool travels to North London to face Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham Hotspur next Saturday.
