Manchester United have reportedly told RB Leipzig they’re ready to make a move for striker Benjamin Sesko. The club has already added Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to their attack this summer, but they are still in the market for a new center forward, either to compete with or potentially replace Rasmus Hojlund.

While there was recent interest in Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, United now seem focused on Sesko. Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports that United have informed Leipzig of their intention to submit a bid, but only if Sesko signals he’s open to a move to Old Trafford.

United aren’t the only Premier League side chasing him. Newcastle United are also keen and are prepared to match his salary expectations. They could be in the market for a striker if Alexander Isak leaves amid continued links to Liverpool.

Both clubs are now waiting for Sesko to make his decision in the coming days. Despite having four years left on his Leipzig contract, the 22-year-old looks increasingly likely to leave this summer.

Sesko has made a big impression over his two seasons in Germany, scoring 39 goals in 87 appearances, including 21 in 45 games last season. Already one of Europe’s most exciting young forwards, his age and potential make him a highly attractive target for both United and Newcastle.
