Reports suggest that Manchester City is remaining calm about the future of their star striker, Erling Haaland, despite Real Madrid expressing interest. There are rumors that Real Madrid could acquire the Norwegian for around €100m (£86.1m) due to a potential release clause in his contract at Etihad Stadium.

Carlo Ancelotti's team has been linked with Haaland for quite some time, even predating his move to Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in July 2022. This interest is part of their ongoing search for a long-term replacement for Karim Benzema, who joined Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia last summer.

Despite these speculations, The Sun reports that Manchester City is confident in Haaland's contentment with the club under Pep Guardiola for the 'foreseeable future.'

Haaland, who still has three-and-a-half years left on his contract, is reportedly being considered for a new and improved deal that could potentially make him the highest-paid player in the Premier League.

In response to previous rumors linking Haaland to Real Madrid, his agent, Rafaela Pimenta, played down the speculation, emphasizing that the striker is in control of his destiny. She asserted that Haaland would never disrespect Manchester City by forcing an exit. Haaland had an exceptional debut season with the club in 2022-23, scoring 52 goals in 53 appearances and contributing to their historic treble.

Despite being sidelined with a foot injury since early December, Haaland is nearing a return to the pitch and has participated in first-team training for Manchester City's upcoming Premier League match against Newcastle United.

Real Madrid is not only eyeing Haaland but is also interested in Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe. The French star is in the final six months of his contract with PSG, and while he can negotiate pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs, PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi has expressed the desire for Mbappe to stay with the team in the French capital.
