It's rumored that Manchester City is gearing up to start talks about a new contract with their star goalkeeper, Ederson. Since he joined the team back in 2017 from Benfica, the Brazilian international has become widely recognized as one of the top goalkeepers globally.

During his time with Man City, Ederson has played in over 325 matches, contributing significantly to the club's impressive trophy cabinet, which includes five Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy, two FA Cups, four EFL Cups, a UEFA Super Cup, and a Club World Cup. According to reports from the Daily Star, Man City is getting ready to sit down with Ederson and discuss extending his contract in the coming days.

There's no immediate risk of Ederson leaving the club as he's under contract until June 2026. However, it seems like the club is keen to secure his services for the long haul, which is why they're eager to start negotiations now.

Currently earning around £120,000 per week, Man City is reportedly willing to bump up Ederson's salary to £200,000 per week as they aim to keep him at the club for the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately, Ederson is currently sidelined due to an injury sustained in Man City's recent match against Liverpool, where they drew 1-1. In his absence, Stefan Ortega stepped in and also played in their subsequent FA Cup win over Newcastle United with a 2-0 victory at St James' Park.
