Italy and Juventus legend Leonardo Bonucci has announced his retirement from football at the age of 37. Widely hailed as one of the best central defenders of his generation, Bonucci spent 12 seasons of his impressive 19-year professional career with Juventus, racking up 502 appearances in all competitions.

During his time with Juve, he was a key player in a squad that secured eight Serie A titles, four Coppa Italias, and five Supercoppa Italianas. He also played a pivotal role in the team's journey to two Champions League finals.

Bonucci's career included stints with his boyhood club Viterbese, as well as Inter Milan, Treviso, Pisa, Bari, AC Milan, and Union Berlin, before concluding his club career with Fenerbahce.

On the international stage, Bonucci is the fourth-most capped player in Italy's history, with 121 appearances for the Azzurri. He celebrated a major triumph at Euro 2020, eight years after being part of the team that fell to Spain in the Euro 2012 final.

Believing the time is right, Bonucci confirmed his retirement by posting a video on social media.
