Barcelona's young talent, Lamine Yamal, is set to make history by aiming to become the youngest goalscorer in El Clasico during Sunday's Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid.

Throughout the 2023-24 season, the forward has been a regular presence for the Catalan team, making 26 appearances in various competitions and contributing with two goals and four assists.

In Thursday's semi-final against Osasuna, Yamal already made history by becoming the youngest goalscorer in Spanish Super Cup history. Notably, he has previously broken records as Barcelona's and La Liga's youngest goalscorer.

If Yamal manages to score in Sunday's clash with Real Madrid, he would surpass Alfonso Navarro's longstanding record as the youngest goalscorer in the history of El Clasico. Navarro achieved this feat at the age of 17 years and 356 days in 1947.

Ansu Fati currently holds the second spot on this list, having scored at 17 years and 359 days old. At 16 years and 185 days old, Yamal has a chance to comfortably break this record.

Yamal, who holds the titles of Spain's youngest-ever debutant and goalscorer, is poised to chase more records in the second half of the season. There's an opportunity for him to become the youngest goalscorer in Champions League history when Barcelona faces Napoli in the round of 16. Barcelona's manager, Xavi, expressed high praise for Yamal following his goal against Osasuna in the Spanish Super Cup semi-finals.

"Lamine, with the ball, is amazing. He practically doesn't lose the ball, and he goes into every duel. Even apart from the goal, he was very good. He's an extraordinary talent," he told reporters.
