Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips has reportedly been offered to Italian club Roma, despite concerns from Daniele De Rossi about his fitness. Since his £42m transfer from Leeds United in 2022, Phillips has struggled to make an impact at City.

Phillips hasn't been able to secure a spot in Pep Guardiola's lineup and has only made 31 appearances for the team. In the first half of the 2023-24 season, he played just four Premier League matches before being loaned to West Ham United, where he faced further challenges, starting only three out of 10 games.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Phillips's agents have approached Roma about a possible transfer. They're also exploring options with other clubs to help Phillips revive his career. Roma is looking to strengthen their midfield, which currently includes Bryan Cristante, Leandro Paredes, Edoardo Bove, and Houssem Aouar.

Roma manager De Rossi likes Phillips but has reservations about his fitness. Aware of these concerns, Phillips plans to return to pre-season training early to demonstrate his readiness to potential buyers. Besides Roma, Phillips has been linked to other clubs, seeking regular playing time.

Everton is reportedly interested, with manager Sean Dyche searching for new midfield talent. They are keeping their options open, especially given the uncertain future of Belgian international Amadou Onana. Additionally, there are reports that Phillips could be a target for sister clubs RB Leipzig in Germany and Red Bull Salzburg in Austria.
