Mourinho's arrival in Turkey could attract more high-profile players to Şukru Saracoglu Stadium. He has dismissed rumors of targeting players from his previous club, Roma, where he was the manager until January. However, it seems the 61-year-old is looking to one of his other former clubs, Real Madrid, for new talent.
According to Diario AS, Mourinho is interested in a loan deal for Real Madrid's young prospect, Arda Guler. The 19-year-old is familiar with Fenerbahce, having spent his youth there before shining in the senior team. Guler contributed nine goals and 12 assists in 51 appearances for Fenerbahce before moving to Real Madrid shortly after turning 18.
Guler's first season in Spain was marred by injuries, limiting him to just 10 matches. However, he made a strong comeback in his final seven appearances, scoring six goals in five games. Despite his late-season success, the arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick at Real Madrid complicate his position.
While Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti might want to keep Guler for squad depth, the competition for playing time, especially with Mbappe's presence, could hinder his development. Thus, a loan move back to Fenerbahce, where he would have a key role in familiar surroundings, might be a beneficial option for all parties.
