According to reports, Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has no intentions of leaving the Emirates Stadium during the upcoming summer transfer window. In a surprising move at the beginning of the year, Jorginho left Chelsea to join Arsenal, crossing the city to ply his trade with the Gunners.

Arsenal secured the deal with the belief that the Italian international would contribute to their pursuit of a Premier League title, relying on his leadership qualities and passing abilities in midfield. With a fee of £12 million, Jorginho proved to be a cost-effective signing, making nine starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League. However, Arsenal fell short of their title aspirations as Manchester City clinched the trophy with three games to spare.

When Jorginho signed with Arsenal, he agreed to an 18-month contract, meaning he is now entering the final year of his deal. This situation arises at a time when Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly seeking new additions, including Declan Rice from West Ham United and Romeo Lavia from Southampton.

Nevertheless, despite the potential arrivals of Rice and Lavia, the Evening Standard reports that the 31-year-old midfielder intends to stay at Arsenal for the upcoming season.

There have been rumors linking Jorginho with a reunion with his former manager Maurizio Sarri at Lazio, as they previously worked together at Napoli and Chelsea. However, the report states that Jorginho has no current plans to return to Serie A for the 2023-24 season and instead wants to compete for his place under Arteta at Arsenal.

Although Rice and Lavia may join Arsenal in the future, it is expected that Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey will be sold in the coming weeks to make room for potential new arrivals.

If no further signings are made, Jorginho would likely find himself in a similar position in the squad hierarchy as last season. However, he is expected to receive regular playing time due to Arsenal's qualification for the Champions League.

Additionally, Arsenal has the option to activate a one-year extension clause in Jorginho's contract, and it is reported that the player is content with life in the English capital.
