Joanna Jedrzejczyk set to Become Second Woman Inducted in UFC Hall of Fame (1 Viewer)

Joanna Jedrzejczyk is set to make history as the second female fighter to be inducted into the Ultimate Fighting Championship Hall of Fame. The announcement was made during the UFC 299 broadcast, revealing that Jedrzejczyk will join Ronda Rousey in the Modern Era wing during the International Fight Week in June.

Jedrzejczyk herself was present at the Kaseya Center in Miami for the event, showing support for fellow Polish fighter Mateusz Gamrot, who secured a hard-earned unanimous decision victory over Rafael dos Anjos.

“Joanna is one of the greatest athletes in combat sports history,” UFC CEO Dana White said in a release. “Joanna is an amazing person who has been an incredible champion, ambassador, and role model for women’s MMA, as well as an absolute killer inside the Octagon.

She fought the best of the best in her division and never backed down from an opponent. Joanna is one of the toughest athletes we’ve ever seen, and it will be an honor to induct her into the UFC Hall of Fame this summer during International Fight Week.”

Jedrzejczyk entered the UFC with an impressive undefeated record of 6-0 and quickly made her mark by claiming the strawweight title in just her third promotional fight with a dominant victory over Carla Esparza.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest strawweights in MMA history, she successfully defended her title five times before eventually losing it to Rosa Namajunas in 2017.

Despite numerous attempts, Jedrzejczyk was unable to regain the title, although she participated in some of the most memorable fights in MMA history. Her title loss to Weili Zhang at UFC 248, where she endured a severe hematoma, is often cited as one of the greatest bouts ever.

Jedrzejczyk retired following a knockout defeat to Zhang at UFC 275 in 2022, concluding her career with a record of 16-5.
