Daniel Dubois achieved an eighth-round stoppage against Filip Hrgovic to claim the 'interim' IBF heavyweight title in Saudi Arabia. In a clash between Queensberry Promotions and Matchroom Sport, Dubois secured a crucial victory in the second-to-last fight of the night against the seasoned mandatory challenger Hrgovic.

Before Dubois and Hrgovic faced off, Queensberry was already leading 6-0. Hrgovic started strong, seemingly outclassing and overpowering Dubois in the first round.

However, Dubois showed remarkable resilience, refusing to retreat and taking heavy hits from Hrgovic while landing his own powerful punches. This strategy led to several head clashes.

By the end of the fight, Hrgovic had significant cuts around both eyes, whether from head clashes or punches. As Dubois began to dominate in the latter part of the seventh and the start of the eighth round, the referee brought in the doctor, who stopped the fight without any objection from Hrgovic.

Dubois now aims to be elevated to full IBF champion, pending the result of Oleksandr Usyk's appeal for one more fight—the rematch with Tyson Fury in December.
