Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly preparing to ramp up their pursuit of Liverpool's Harvey Elliott this summer. The 22-year-old midfielder has featured 147 times for Liverpool since arriving from Fulham in 2019, picking up six trophies along the way, including two EFL Cups and a Premier League title last season.

But despite being part of a successful squad, Elliott found himself on the fringes in 2024/25, starting just twice in the league and making 16 appearances off the bench under Arne Slot.

Comfortable playing in multiple midfield and attacking roles, Elliott recently expressed frustration about his limited minutes, saying he doesn’t want to “waste years” of his career. With two years left on his current deal, he’s reportedly considering his options.

Clubs across Europe and the Premier League have shown interest, including Borussia Dortmund, Newcastle and Aston Villa. The latter were seen as frontrunners earlier this week. A move to Serie A has also been floated as a strong possibility.

But according to The Sun, Brighton have now made Elliott their top target and are willing to offer up to £40 million to bring the England Under-21 international to the south coast. He had previously turned down a move to Nottingham Forest, reportedly because their playing style didn’t suit him.

Brighton’s approach, however, is much more in line with Elliott’s strengths. Known for their attacking football and focus on youth development, the Seagulls could offer him the regular football and progressive environment he’s looking for. New manager Fabian Hürzeler is believed to see Elliott as someone who can help push the club to the next level.
