Liverpool have their eyes on Atalanta BC midfielder Ederson for a summer transfer. With Arne Slot now at the helm after taking over from Jurgen Klopp, the Reds are looking to bolster their squad, especially in midfield, as Thiago Alcantara is set to leave after his contract expires this summer.

Initially, Liverpool were considering Atalanta's Teun Koopmeiners, but according to Tuttosport, they've shifted their focus to Ederson. Scouts were sent to watch Koopmeiners, but they were more impressed by Ederson's performances.

This move could benefit Juventus, who are also interested in Koopmeiners. Liverpool, having already strengthened their midfield with players like Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Wataru Endo, and Dominik Szoboszlai, still need a top defensive midfielder, and Ederson seems like a good fit.

Ederson, 24, had a standout 2023-24 season with Atalanta, making 52 appearances, helping them win the Europa League, and reaching the Coppa Italia final. Since joining from Salernitana in 2022, he's scored eight goals and provided two assists in 89 matches.
