Strengthening the front line is a clear priority, especially after last season's injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz exposed the lack of depth up front.
The club is believed to be targeting either Sesko or Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres. Arsenal have already had one bid turned down for Gyokeres but are expected to come back with a higher offer. So far, they haven’t made a formal move for Sesko.
Journalist Florian Plettenburg reports that Arsenal are unwilling to meet Leipzig’s valuation of the Slovenian forward, which is said to be between €80 million and €100 million (around £68.4 million to £85.5 million).
Despite that, Arsenal remain in talks with Sesko’s representatives, though no agreement on personal terms has been reached yet. The 22-year-old has spent his senior career within the Red Bull football network, playing for Red Bull Salzburg, FC Liefering, and now Leipzig.
He’s developed a reputation as a clinical striker, scoring 39 goals in 87 matches across all competitions during his time at Leipzig. Last season alone, he scored 21 goals in 45 appearances, finishing as the club’s top scorer.
Beyond his finishing ability, Sesko is also known for his link-up play, making him more than just a traditional poacher, he offers a complete forward profile.
