According to reports, Arsenal is looking to finance a move for Mohammed Kudus by placing six players on the transfer list. The Ajax attacking midfielder stood out as one of the few positives in what was ultimately a disappointing season for the Dutch club, finishing third in the Eredivisie.

Kudus, who is 22 years old, showcased his versatility at Ajax, excelling as a central midfielder, on the wings, and even as a central striker. He managed to score 18 goals across all competitions for the Amsterdam club, an impressive feat after almost departing to join Everton last summer.

The Daily Mail reports that Kudus may be on his way out this summer, with Arsenal preparing a bid for the Ghanaian player. Ajax values him at £40 million. However, given that Arsenal has already spent over £200 million this summer, manager Mikel Arteta will need to offload some players before making any more significant investments.

Among the six players said to be free to move on are Cedric Soares, Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga, and Nicolas Pepe. Surprisingly, Kieran Tierney and Rob Holding, who featured sporadically in Arsenal's quest for the Premier League title last season, are also on that list.

Oleksandr Zinchenko and William Saliba's integration into the Arsenal side limited first-team opportunities for Tierney and Holding, and the recent signings of Jurrien Timber and Jakub Kiwior might prompt the club to move them on.

In the event that Arsenal fails to raise sufficient funds for Kudus, they might consider Dinamo Zagreb's Martin Baturina as a potentially cheaper and younger alternative.
