Despite Osimhen's representatives expressing their dissatisfaction with the posts, no formal apology was issued by Napoli. Instead, the club stated that it had not intended to offend or mock Victor Osimhen. While Osimhen did play for Napoli against Udinese on Wednesday night after the videos were posted, it remains unclear if the relationship between the player and the club has been irreparably damaged.
Osimhen has less than two years remaining on his contract, and it seems unlikely that he will consider signing a new deal in the near future.
According to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport, Al-Hilal is willing to offer €200 million (£173.35 million) to secure a deal. A similar approach was apparently rejected during the summer transfer window, but recent developments may change Napoli's stance. Al-Hilal has reportedly communicated to Osimhen that they are prepared to offer him a contract worth at least €40 million (£34.67 million) annually.
In the current season, Al-Hilal is performing well, sitting in second place in the Saudi Pro League standings after seven matches, with 21 goals scored. They made notable signings, including Malcom, Neymar, and Aleksandar Mitrovic, during the summer.
Chelsea has also shown interest in Osimhen, but it remains uncertain whether they can meet Napoli's asking price. Despite Real Madrid's need for a new number nine in the 2024-25 season, it appears that Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe is the top choice for that role.
