west ham vs liverpool prediction
West Ham United will play host to Liverpool in an intriguing Premier League contest at the London Stadium on Wednesday night. Both teams are known for their ability to score goals, with West Ham having run riot in a 4-0 win over Bournemouth in their last game and Liverpool scraping by Nottingham Forest in a five-goal thriller at Anfield.

West Ham's demolition job of Bournemouth may have gone under the radar somewhat, given the seven-goal spectacular that unfolded in Newcastle United's drubbing of Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. However, the three points were no less vital for the goal-happy Hammers, who have scored in all of their top-flight games at the London Stadium in 2023. The Hammers occupy 13th place in the rankings before Tuesday's games kick off, with a game in hand on most of their relegation rivals. While they are only six points clear of the drop zone, Moyes's side have certainly kicked into gear at a crucial time, going unbeaten in their last five games in all tournaments and losing just one of their last 10.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have surged back into European contention in seventh place in the table, albeit nine points behind Manchester United. With 11 goals in their last three Premier League matches, the Reds' attack is firing on all cylinders, although their record of two wins from their last nine top-flight contests on the road makes for grim reading. Liverpool's visit to the London Stadium last season ended in a 3-2 defeat, but they have since recorded a pair of 1-0 wins over West Ham in front of the ardent Anfield faithful.

SUSPENSIONS & INJURIES

David Moyes will have few injury concerns for West Ham's clash against Liverpool, as Gianluca Scamacca is the only player recovering from knee surgery. Moyes was unsure of the details of the surgery. Angelo Ogbonna has recovered from a back problem and could feature after making the bench against Bournemouth. Moyes is expected to stick with the winning team that demolished Bournemouth, with Pablo Fornals pushing for a starting spot after his impressive goal. Fornals has a good record against Liverpool, having scored three goals against them in the past.

Liverpool will be without Roberto Firmino for their next three games due to a muscular problem, according to Klopp. Firmino joins Naby Keita, Stefan Bajcetic, and Calvin Ramsay on the sidelines. Despite Firmino's absence, Klopp has a plethora of attacking options at his disposal, including Darwin Nunez, who could replace Cody Gakpo. Diogo Jota is expected to retain his place in the team after scoring back-to-back braces in the Premier League, and he could become the first Liverpool player to score three successive braces in the competition since Luis Suarez in 2013.

POSSIBLE LINE-UPS

West Ham United possible starting lineup:
Fabianski; Coufal, Zouma, Aguerd, Cresswell; Soucek, Rice, Paqueta; Bowen, Antonio, Benrahma

Liverpool possible starting lineup:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Jones, Fabinho, Henderson; Salah, Nunez, Jota

EXPERT PREDICTION

West Ham 3-3 Liverpool

Both West Ham United and Liverpool have been scoring plenty of goals in their recent matches, and with both teams still having a lot to play for, we can expect an exciting and attacking match at the London Stadium. Liverpool's defensive frailties are still a concern, which could lead to a back-and-forth game.

Considering the previous encounter between these two sides at the London Stadium, it's unlikely that either team will keep a clean sheet. It's possible that West Ham will hold out for a draw with plenty of goals, especially given Liverpool's inconsistency away from home.
