Brazilian footballer Miraildes Maciel Mota, commonly known as Formiga, is the only player (male or female) to participate in seven World Cup tournaments (1995, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011, 2015, 2019).

She became the oldest player to score at the Women's World Cup when she scored against South Korea on 9 June 2015 at the age of 37 years, three months and six days old. She also became the oldest player in the tournament's history when she appeared for Brazil at the 2019 world cup at the age of 41.

Formiga played in the 2020 Summer Olympics to become the first female player to participate in seven Olympic Games.

She announced her retirement from international football in November 2021 and is Brazil's most capped player ever (male or female) with 234 appearances.

She won the Copa América Femenina six times (1995, 1998, 2003, 2010, 2014, 2018), alongside many other trophies.
