Real Madrid have announced that Éder Militão will be sidelined after aggravating a muscle injury during Saturday's La Liga match against Villarreal. The defender initially picked up the issue during last week's Champions League game against Lille and was expected to sit out the Villarreal clash.

However, Militão ended up playing the last 20 minutes of the 2-0 victory under Carlo Ancelotti. Although he finished the match, the injury worsened, and it’s now confirmed as a muscle problem in his left leg. As a result, he’s withdrawn from Brazil’s squad for their October matches against Chile and Peru.

Real Madrid are now anxiously waiting for updates on his recovery, with their La Liga match against Celta Vigo on October 19 approaching, followed by key fixtures against Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona later in the month.

Vinícius Júnior has also been ruled out of Brazil’s squad after suffering a neck injury in the Villarreal match, but he's expected to return in time for the Celta Vigo game.
