It appears that Real Madrid is now in the running to secure the services of Bayern Munich's left-back, Alphonso Davies. This comes as contract talks between the player and the German club have hit a roadblock.

Davies, a 22-year-old talent, made the leap to the Bundesliga from the MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps back in December 2018. Since then, he has had a highly successful stint in European football, adorned with numerous trophies. Among his accomplishments, Davies has contributed to Bayern's clinching of five German league titles and their memorable Champions League victory in 2020.

It was during this Champions League campaign that he made a name for himself with a remarkable performance against Barcelona in the quarter-finals. Throughout his time at Bayern, he has made 164 appearances, finding the back of the net eight times.

German news source Bild reports that Real Madrid is now eyeing a move for Davies, as they aspire to solidify their status as a European football powerhouse for years to come. According to the report, Los Blancos are gearing up to make an offer for the Canadian player as he enters the final year of his contract at the Allianz Arena in the 2024-25 season.

Davies' current contract with Bayern is set to expire in the summer of 2025. Despite ongoing discussions between Bayern and the player's representatives regarding a new deal, these talks have hit a standstill.

Nick Househ, who represents Davies, openly discussed the situation, expressing that the interest from Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid has been flattering to both him and the talented left-back.

"Real (Madrid) is a big club, I'm a big fan. Real is a big name. When you hear rumors about your protege, it makes you proud," Househ said recently.

"We still have two years of contract with Bayern. We will wait and see how everything develops in the coming weeks."

Real Madrid is looking to secure the services of Alphonso Davies, the 13-time European champions are aiming to do so for a reported fee of £35 million. However, they are open to increasing their offer to approximately £44 million to make sure they acquire their top choice for the left-back position.

Currently, Ferland Mendy is the most natural choice for Los Blancos on the left side of their defense. Nevertheless, Eduardo Camavinga, a fellow Frenchman at the club, has displayed his versatility by operating in that role in recent matches.

Alphonso Davies, the Canadian talent, has been a consistent presence, starting in all seven of Bayern's Bundesliga matches this season. He has also been an asset in providing three assists to his teammates as Bayern pursues their goal of recapturing the German league title.

Additionally, there are reports that Premier League clubs, Manchester City and Chelsea, are gearing up to challenge Real Madrid in the race to secure Davies. These English clubs are closely monitoring the defender's contract situation and may enter the competition for his signature.
