Reports suggest that CF Montreal has expressed interest in signing Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard. Hazard, currently in his fourth year at the Bernabeu, has struggled to secure a consistent spot in Carlo Ancelotti's squad.

Throughout the season, the 32-year-old has made only four starts and six substitute appearances. While he was given a rare opportunity to start against Getafe on Saturday, he remained an unused substitute in Real Madrid's 4-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League semi-final second leg.

With just four matches remaining in La Liga, it remains uncertain whether Ancelotti will provide Hazard with further game time. Despite his lack of playing minutes, Hazard has repeatedly expressed his intention to stay at the club until the end of his contract next year, emphasizing his contentment with his settled family life in Madrid.

However, according to Marca, CF Montreal has shown admiration for Hazard. Although there have been no significant developments in their initial interest, the Canadian side is prepared to offer Hazard an alternative route. Under the guidance of coach Hernan Losada, CF Montreal has had a mixed season, winning five and losing seven of their 12 matches in the MLS. Their scoring record has been modest, with just 11 goals in those games, and they recently suffered a 3-0 defeat against Eastern Conference leaders FC Cincinnati.

If Hazard has a change of heart regarding his career path, he is likely to attract interest from European clubs, including those in the Premier League who have the financial capacity to match his wages. It is important for Hazard to consider whether another season of limited playing time would affect his options if he becomes a free agent in 2024.
