Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé is set for a stint on the sidelines due to a thigh injury. The French star, who joined the team this summer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, netted a goal in the 3-2 victory against Deportivo Alaves but was substituted in the 80th minute.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti mentioned that Mbappé was "a little overloaded" and requested to come off to prevent further issues. After undergoing tests, the club confirmed he has a biceps femoris injury in his left leg and will be closely monitored.
Madrid faces Atlético Madrid on Sunday, followed by matches against Lille in the Champions League and Villarreal before the October international break. Before his injury, Mbappé had an impressive record of six goals in seven games for the club.
