Manchester United has reportedly decided to fire Erik ten Hag as their head coach after the 2023-24 season ends. Ten Hag’s contract runs through next June, but his job is in jeopardy due to the team's poor performance this season.

The Red Devils got trounced 4-0 by Crystal Palace on Monday and currently sit in eighth place in the Premier League, potentially missing out on European football next season.

Despite this, Man United has a chance to salvage the season with the upcoming FA Cup final against Manchester City on May 25. There’s a chance to win a domestic trophy, but it seems it won't be enough to save Ten Hag's job.

A recent report suggests that the club won't dismiss Ten Hag before the FA Cup final, despite having tough league matches against Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Brighton & Hove Albion ahead. However, according to Football Insider, the club has already decided to let him go at the end of the season, regardless of whether they win the FA Cup or not.

Ten Hag joined Manchester United in the summer of 2022, bringing a winning pedigree from Ajax where he clinched three Eredivisie titles and two Dutch Cups. Since taking over at United, he's led the team to 63 wins, 17 draws, and 30 losses in 110 games, giving him a win rate of just over 57%.

Last season, he helped United win the EFL Cup and secure a third-place finish in the Premier League, also taking them to the FA Cup final. However, his success hasn't been enough to secure his future with the club, and he's likely out at the end of the season.
