Juventus is considering reallocating the funds saved from reducing Paul Pogba's salary to finance a potential move for Arsenal's Thomas Partey in 2024. Pogba's second stint with Juventus has been marred by setbacks, including a suspension after testing positive for non-endogenous testosterone.

While the extent of his sanctions remains uncertain, Juventus is likely to terminate his contract, despite it running until 2026. His salary has already been drastically cut from €8 million to just €2,000 per month.

Given Nicolo Fagioli's seven-month suspension for illegal betting, Juventus is expected to seek a midfielder in January, and Partey has emerged as a strong candidate. The Mirror reports that the money saved from Pogba's reduced wages will be channeled towards securing Partey, who appears to be growing frustrated with his playing time at Arsenal.

Partey, who partnered successfully with Granit Xhaka last season, has faced increased competition in the midfield following Xhaka's departure and the arrivals of Declan Rice and Kai Havertz. In addition, injury woes have plagued Partey, limiting his playing time this season. He has not started a Premier League game since August 26 due to a groin injury and recent muscular problems.

While Partey's Arsenal contract extends until June 2025, there are reports of his desire to find an exit route from the Emirates. Juventus is considering a loan deal for him in January, with Arsenal allegedly seeking €30 million for a permanent transfer – a figure that Juventus is currently unwilling to pay. Negotiating an option to buy for the summer of 2024 could be a potential compromise.
