Eintracht Frankfurt seems to have made up their mind about Donny van de Beek's future, and it doesn't include a permanent stay. Despite his move to the German club from Manchester United in January, it appears that his time there will be short-lived.

Van de Beek has had a few chances to prove himself on the pitch for Frankfurt, making five appearances in the Bundesliga, but he's yet to make a significant impact, without any goals or assists to his name. He's also struggled to complete a full 90 minutes in a match, with his longest stint being substituted in the 67th minute against Wolfsburg.

Even more telling is his absence from Frankfurt's Champions League squad, indicating a lack of confidence from the management in his abilities. Although there was an option to buy him for £12.5m, it seems Frankfurt is not inclined to exercise it, given his performance so far.

While there's still some time left in the season for Van de Beek to turn things around, as of now, it looks like he'll be returning to Manchester United. His contract with Ajax, where he had a successful spell under Erik ten Hag, runs until 2025, but his future at Old Trafford seems uncertain.

Considering his lackluster performances and the club's intentions to revamp the midfield, it's likely that Van de Beek will be seeking a new club come summer. His return to Eredivisie, where he previously excelled, could be on the cards, especially with his disappointing stint at Manchester United.

Van de Beek's situation is part of a broader midfield restructuring at Manchester United, with players like Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Scott McTominay also facing uncertain futures. It seems the club is gearing up for some significant changes in the upcoming transfer window.
