According to reports, Barcelona has informed Chelsea that signing striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could cost up to £23 million. La Blaugrana paid Arsenal nothing to bring the 33-year-old to Camp Nou in January, and the Gunners terminated his contract after he was stripped of the captaincy.

In his final 18 months at Arsenal, Aubameyang struggled to regain his best form, but he hit the ground running at Barcelona as Xavi's focal point. The former Borussia Dortmund striker finished his first half-season at the club with 13 goals in 23 games across all competitions, including 11 goals in 17 La Liga appearances. However, Aubameyang is now up against old Bundesliga rival Robert Lewandowski in the starting lineup, with the Polish captain given the nod to start for the weekend's La Liga opener against Rayo Vallecano.
