Arsenal is reportedly considering a swap deal involving their striker Eddie Nketiah and Brentford's forward Ivan Toney during the January transfer window. Ivan Toney had a remarkable season with Brentford last year, scoring 20 goals in the Premier League from 33 starts. His impressive performances earned him an England call-up in September 2022.

According to The Mirror, Arsenal is showing a strong interest in Toney and might be willing to trade players with Brentford to secure his services. This could involve Nketiah moving to Brentford in exchange for Toney, relocating from Arsenal to the Gtech Community Stadium in London.

However, it's worth noting that Nketiah is keen on staying at Arsenal and competing for a starting striker position, even though there's tough competition, including Gabriel Jesus, who was signed from Manchester City in 2022 and has become Mikel Arteta's preferred forward option.

Nketiah had an opportunity to play as a starter when Gabriel Jesus was sidelined due to injury during the previous season, scoring four goals from 30 appearances, with most of his appearances coming off the bench.

Brentford is reportedly asking for £60 million for Toney, but it's uncertain if they would be open to a swap deal with any interested parties. Additionally, Arsenal's London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, are said to be monitoring Toney's situation at Brentford and could also be potential suitors for the striker in either the January transfer window or the summer of 2024.
