Newcastle United seems to have struck a deal to sell their winger, Miguel Almiron, to Saudi Pro League team Al Shabab. The club, backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, is among the wealthiest in global football.

However, financial constraints due to losses and Financial Fair Play regulations are preventing them from participating in the January transfer market for reinforcements.

The club recently disclosed pre-tax losses of £73m for the financial year, and CEO Darren Eales hasn't ruled out the possibility of selling key players to manage their finances.

Journalist Ben Jacobs reports that the Magpies have a 'provisional agreement' for Almiron's sale to Al Shabab, though the deal is not yet finalized. Almiron, who turns 30 soon, appears open to the move to the Middle East this month.

Having been with St James' Park for the past five years, Almiron arrived from MLS club Atlanta United for £21m in January 2019. The Paraguay international has been a significant contributor with 30 goals and 11 assists in 195 appearances for Newcastle across all competitions, including five goals and two assists in 31 outings this season.

Under Eddie Howe, Almiron has been the preferred choice on the right flank. In the 2022-23 season, he had a standout performance, scoring 11 times in 34 Premier League games, aiding the club in securing a fourth-place finish and qualification for the Champions League. Now, it seems he's set to leave Newcastle, adding to the uncertainty surrounding other key players like Kieran Trippier.

Reports suggest that Bayern Munich's offers, both loan and permanent, for Trippier have been rejected, as the Magpies have no intention of parting ways with the 33-year-old right-back. Atletico Madrid's loan bid for Callum Wilson has also allegedly been rejected, but Newcastle might consider a permanent transfer this month if a suitable offer is presented for the striker.

Javi Manquillo has already completed a permanent transfer to Celta Vigo, while players like Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes, and Alexander Isak are rumored to be potential departures in January or the upcoming summer due to the club's financial concerns.
