Back in 2005, AC Milan was known as a team packed with legends, from the starting lineup all the way to the bench.

After lifting the Serie A in 2004, led by Andriy Shevchenko and the magical Brazilian from Copacabana, Ricardo Kaká, Milan brought in one of the world's fiercest defenders, "Stam," and got the lethal "Crespo" on loan.

With players like Cafu, Rui Costa, Pirlo, Gattuso, Inzaghi, Seedorf, Nesta, Maldini, Kaladze, Ambrosini, Tomasson, Shevchenko, Kaká, and more, this team was made up of over 15 legends, both on and off the field—literally the best players from their respective countries.

The season kicked off with a Supercoppa win against Lazio, and everyone expected Milan to dominate everything with this lineup. But the season ended in disaster, with the team losing the Serie A title at San Siro to Juve and the Champions League in that unbelievable final against Liverpool. By the end of 2005, this star-studded squad had nothing to show for it.

Even now, no one really knows why this incredible team failed. Was it overconfidence? Or was the team just too full of stars for Ancelotti to handle?
