Paris Saint-Germain has officially announced that 17-year-old midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery will be out of action until 2024 due to an ankle injury. Despite being considered one of the most promising talents in world football, Zaire-Emery's unfortunate setback occurred during his senior debut for France in a dominating 14-0 victory over Gibraltar in Euro 2024 qualifying.

He not only scored the third goal of the night but also suffered an ankle injury from a challenge by Ethan Santos, who received a straight red card for the tackle.

Following the match, France's head coach Didier Deschamps expressed concern about a potential significant sprain, although ruling out a fracture. PSG's recent medical update confirmed a moderately severe sprain to Zaire-Emery's right ankle, and he is expected to undergo treatment until the winter break.

As a result of this injury, Zaire-Emery will miss PSG's upcoming Champions League fixtures against Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle United. His participation in the Trophee des Champions with Toulouse on January 3 is also uncertain.

The 17-year-old had been a regular starter under Luis Enrique in the early stages of the 2023-24 season, showcasing his talent with two goals and five assists in 15 matches. His impressive performances reportedly attracted interest from clubs like Manchester City, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich.
