According to The Telegraph, Liverpool is reportedly open to the possibility of allowing Thiago Alcantara to leave the club this summer. The Spanish midfielder joined Liverpool from Bayern Munich for a transfer fee of £20m three years ago. However, his time at the club has been marred by recurring injury problems, which have limited his appearances in the first team.

Thiago featured in only 18 Premier League matches last season, and with reports suggesting that he earns around £200,000-per-week, it is believed that Liverpool is willing to offload him in order to alleviate the wage burden.

Although Liverpool acknowledges that they will not be able to recoup a significant portion of the fee they paid for the midfielder, they are determined not to let him depart on a free transfer during this transfer window.

If Thiago does leave, he will join a growing list of players who have already departed Anfield this summer. James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keita have already made their exits, and Roberto Firmino recently completed a move to Al-Ahli.
