Although he has had influential moments during his time with the club, injuries have hampered his ability to secure a consistent place in the team. Thiago has not played more than 25 times in any of his three Premier League campaigns and completed the full 90 minutes in only half of his 18 top-flight appearances in the 2022-23 season.
With the arrival of Mac Allister, Thiago faces competition to regain his place in the team, especially after missing a significant portion of the previous season due to a hip injury. Despite the possibility of being a squad option for the upcoming season, Thiago has reportedly turned down an opportunity to move to the Saudi Pro League.
