Liverpool has officially announced the extension of a long-term contract for the young winger, Ben Doak. The Scottish youth international was acquired from the Celtic academy in the summer of 2022, a move that took place after he had already made two appearances for Celtic's first team.

Liverpool is reported to have invested approximately £600,000 to bring Doak to Anfield, and he immediately left his mark at the youth level, boasting an impressive record of 11 goals and eight assists in the previous season. Initially part of the club's Under-18 squad, Doak's outstanding performance, including two goals and two assists in his first four Under-18 Premier League matches, quickly propelled him up the ranks.

Doak excelled in the UEFA Youth League while playing for Liverpool's Under-19 team, contributing with four goals and four assists in eight appearances, despite Liverpool's quarter-final loss to Sporting Lisbon.

Furthermore, the young talent born in 2005 scored four goals and provided two assists in 13 Premier League 2 matches for the Under-21s. He also made his debut for the first team during an EFL Cup victory over Derby County in November 2022. In recognition of his rapid progress, Doak earned a Premier League debut as a substitute against Aston Villa on Boxing Day, concluding his debut season with five first-team appearances.

Notably, the former Celtic player played a significant role in Liverpool's preseason preparations, notably scoring in a 4-0 victory against Leicester City and making a substitute appearance against Chelsea on the opening day of the Premier League season.

Despite his youth, Ben Doak has already earned two caps for the Scotland Under-21 team, even starting as a center-forward in a Euro qualifying match against Spain earlier this month.
