Manchester United have begun initial discussions about potentially signing Raheem Sterling from Chelsea. The 29-year-old forward has found himself training separately from the main squad after Chelsea's manager, Enzo Maresca, indicated that Sterling may not get much playing time this season.

Although there’s no certainty that a deal will be finalized, this move highlights United’s sporting director, Dan Ashworth’s, interest in capitalizing on Sterling’s situation at Stamford Bridge to benefit the Red Devils.

United insiders emphasize that any agreement would be on their terms. Meanwhile, winger Jadon Sancho is also on the market, with Chelsea showing some interest. However, Juventus is eyeing Sancho too but is hesitant to meet United’s demand for a loan deal that includes an obligation to buy and covers all of the 24-year-old's wages.

Sterling, who boasts 82 caps for England, has long been known as a Manchester United fan. He spent a decade in the North West, playing for Liverpool and then Manchester City, where he won 10 major trophies before moving to Chelsea in a £50 million transfer two years ago.
