According to reports, Liverpool has identified Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella as one of their priority targets for the summer transfer window. With a lackluster Premier League campaign that may result in missing out on Champions League qualification, Jurgen Klopp is considering reshaping his squad, particularly in midfield due to the expected departures of Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on a free transfer.

James Milner's departure is also likely, and Klopp wants to bring in new players to refresh his aging midfield, which includes Fabinho and Jordan Henderson. While Liverpool was previously ruled out of the Jude Bellingham race due to the high price tag, they are now reportedly willing to spend as much as £75m to acquire Barella's services, who could be available due to Inter's financial issues.

Barella is a valuable asset to Inter, having contributed eight goals and six assists from 39 appearances in Serie A and the Champions League this campaign, with Liverpool allegedly willing to spend big on him. Despite his status at Inter and his contract running for over three years, the midfielder could be used to balance the books. His midfield teammate, Marcelo Brozovic, is also attracting bids, despite being a squad player this season.
