Leicester City faces a crucial match against Liverpool on Monday at the King Power Stadium, with their Premier League future at stake. The Foxes are only two points away from the relegation zone after a 5-3 defeat to Fulham last time out. Although they have shown some encouraging signs in attack, scoring in nine of their last ten top-flight fixtures, they have not kept a clean sheet in the league since the World Cup hiatus and have conceded at least once in their last 20 games.

Despite recording two consecutive home wins against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton, their upcoming games against Newcastle United and West Ham United make the Liverpool match a must-win.

In contrast, Liverpool is aiming to secure a top-four spot and is on a six-match winning streak in the Premier League. While they have won their last five games by a single goal margin, they will be seeking a seventh successive Premier League win at the King Power Stadium. Their narrow 1-0 win against Brentford was thanks to Mohamed Salah's 19th Premier League goal of the season and his 100th at Anfield in all competitions.

Although their recent record against Leicester has not been good, having lost their last two away games against them, they exacted revenge with an unorthodox 2-1 Anfield win in December 2022.

INJURIES & SUSPENSIONS

Despite the disappointing result against Fulham, there was some good news for Dean Smith's Leicester City as they had no fresh injury concerns, and Jonny Evans was fit enough to make the bench for the visit of Liverpool. However, the quartet of absentees for Leicester City includes Ryan Bertrand, James Justin, Jannik Vestergaard, and Kelechi Iheanacho. Iheanacho is ahead of schedule in his recuperation from a groin injury but is not expected to play on Monday.

After the defeat to Fulham, Smith may consider making changes to the team, with Tete, Patson Daka, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Ricardo Pereira in contention. Despite his poor performance in the previous game, Daniel Iversen is likely to retain his place in the team.

On the other hand, Liverpool will be without Roberto Firmino and Naby Keita, who are still recovering from their muscular problems. Although Firmino could return to training this week, Monday's game will come too soon for him. In addition, Stefan Bajcetic, Calvin Ramsay, and Thiago Alcantara are all out with season-ending injuries.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp may make changes to the lineup, with Jordan Henderson available for a first XI recall. Luis Diaz is also expected to come into contention to replace Darwin Nunez, who only had a cameo role in the previous game against Brentford.

POSSIBLE LINE-UPS

Leicester City possible starting lineup:
Iversen; Pereira, Faes, Soyuncu, Castagne; Ndidi, Dewsbury-Hall; Tete, Maddison, Barnes; Vardy

Liverpool possible starting lineup:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Jones, Fabinho, Henderson; Salah, Gakpo, Diaz

EXPERT PREDICTION

Leicester 2-3 Liverpool

Despite having a wealth of attacking options, Leicester City frequently struggle to defend their goal, and Liverpool's goal-scoring prowess will likely expose their ongoing defensive shortcomings.

Historically, Liverpool have not had an easy time at King Power Stadium, but it is likely that they will secure another win on this occasion and further damage Leicester's chances of avoiding relegation.
