Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, and Jeremy Doku all found the back of the net, giving the reigning champions a much-needed confidence boost and their first league win since late October.
However, the triumph at the Etihad came with a downside. Defenders Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji both picked up injuries. Akanji was subbed off at halftime due to an unspecified issue, while Ake appeared to tweak his hamstring late in the game during a challenge. He walked off gingerly after receiving treatment.
This adds to Ake's struggles this season, as he had already been sidelined by a hamstring injury earlier in the campaign. Now, it looks like the Dutchman will be out of action again for some time.
